Every time I buy a new synthesizer, I make a video. I film and edit the unboxing, then score it entirely with sounds from that synth — using the instrument to narrate its own arrival. It’s been a way to learn video editing, feed a synth habit, and explore what it means to compose to picture. One of the videos was played at a Moog company all-hands meeting, which was basically a dream come true.

I grew up obsessed with classical violin — started at seven, studied seriously, and fully expected to make it a career. Life went sideways in the best way: I ended up in video game audio, played in a band called Grand Hallway for a while, and got obsessed with synthesizers. These days I’m back at it, playing with whoever will have me.
